Get Fresh on Saturdays While the market’s mission is to provide a casual and fun atmosphere for its customers and to support Indiana vendors, the market also hosts special community events throughout the season to entertain and educate attendees of all ages. A few of the market’s events have become long-standing traditions and crowd favorites, such as the Carmel Firehouse Cook Off and Purdue University Athletics Day. Coming up on the 11th, the market will host No Strings Attached, followed by Greg O’Haver on May 18. O’Haver is a singer, songwriter and guitarist who performs secular and contemporary Christian music with strong vocals and a fingerpicking guitar style. Ross David, a Terra Haute native, will perform on May 25. David’s heartfelt, beautiful tones have reached over 6 million Spotify views and over 800,000 YouTube views. Also, on May 25, the Carmel Farmers Market’s presenting sponsor, IU Health North Hospital, will be demonstrating Car Seat Safety—a hands-on presentation of proper car seat installation and other important information on the proper use of car seats for infants and young children. Be sure to check out Carmel Farmers Market’s new website that features detailed information about the market’s sponsors and vendors, including a market map, parking map, music and events schedule and vendor stories as provided. According to Ron Carter, president of the market and the Market Master, the atmosphere of the market is remarkably enhanced by the addition of live music. He went on to say, “We have had local performers providing music for many years during the summer. The performances they give are important to all our market guests … regardless of age. There is nothing more pleasant than sitting on the green, having a cup of fresh coffee and a cinnamon roll, while listening to music performed on the stage of the Carmel Rotary Amphitheater.” Ron Carter, president at CFM Be sure to join us and your fellow market-goers every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and remember, “Get Fresh on Saturday”!
