SEPTEMBER 2016 Writer / Janelle Morrison Photography / JJ Kaplan The city of Carmel will soon be home to the 25th branch of the Indiana Members Credit Union (IMCU) family. Slated to open this October, the Old Meridian branch will boast 18,000 sq. ft. and will be located in the Providence at Old Meridian business complex, conveniently located just off Carmel Drive and Old Meridian Street. IMCU is celebrating 60 years of business this year and is excited to expand their north side presence. Most of the executive leadership located at this new location grew up in Carmel. Stephanie (Stevie) Roesner, the Old Meridian Branch Manager, is a native Carmel resident who is raising her family just a short distance from the new branch. Roesner has been with IMCU for 10 years. “I absolutely love this community and my position as branch manager, because I truly enjoy helping people with their financial needs.” Roesner expressed. “Our goal is to provide excellent customer service to our members and for our members to receive an enthusiastic greeting from our concierge, feeling welcome the moment they walk through our doors. We will greet them and show them how to use the Interactive Teller Machines (ITMs), or if they are here to open an account, we will sit down and discuss what IMCU has to offer them. This really is the branch of the future.”IMCU is the first credit union in central Indiana to have ITMs. What makes the ITMs so unique is that they offer new functionality, allowing members to see and speak with a live teller as they process their transaction during branch hours, transforming both the in-branch and drive-thru experience by providing more personalized member service.Mike Murphy, Vice President of Business Services, has been with IMCU for 10 years and also is a Carmel resident. “Carmel has been a priority for us and we excited about providing this additional branch for both our Business and Consumer members We are very relationship-based and cater to small to medium-sized businesses who want to work with someone local.” Paul Hensel, Relationship Manager and also a native Carmel resident, works with Commercial clients and with building relationships in the community. “We are an active member of OneZone and attend many of the meetings,” Hensel said. “Having grown up here and lived here all of my life, I’ve built many relationships and contacts and use those to build our network. We want to be the credit union that people think of first, and my goal is to be out there in our community, so that they do think of us first for their business and consumer needs.” Ron Collier, the president and CEO of IMCU, spoke about what makes their credit union unique in the industry. “We live the full-service, great service concept that others only talk about,” Collier enthused. We know our members, and we do a great job taking care of them. All of our branches are full service branches. Everything that we do and strive for has to do with benefiting the lives of our members. The banking world is a world of numbers and electronics, but we believe it’s also a world of people. We’re expanding where the population is, and this area is amazing. Many of our members are from the healthcare world, so being surrounded by all of the largest hospital networks and many other private practices will provide even better access for those members. We have a great future here in Carmel.” Another thing that separates IMCU is that they are wonderful community partners. IMCU currently partners with the Carmel Dad’s Club, Carmel High School and the Carmel Gazebo Concerts. “People in this area will appreciate IMCU being involved in their community. Above all, we are people serving people.” The IMCU Old Meridian Branch will offer as part of its full-service menu mortgage services, commercial lending, auto lending, a call center that helps to support the ITMs, the branch manager and her staff and a community room that is available, free of charge, for business and community-related meetings. Be sure to visit the IMCU Old Meridian Branch upon their grand opening this October.
