Jeff Worrell, current President of the Carmel City Council, is seeking re-election in the November election. With a passion for his community and a proven record of accomplishments, Worrell stands out among the field of candidates. His motto of “I hear you” is more than just talk — it reflects his commitment to listening to and hearing his constituents.
“I have a passion for this wonderful community we call home, and I am driven to contribute to its well-being and success.”
Worrell’s dedication to his community is evident in his volunteer work with multiple Carmel charities and his willingness to listen to residents’ concerns. He has used these experiences to accomplish tasks such as solving parking issues around Carmel High School and bringing together a group to install life-saving AEDs along the Monon. Worrell’s focus on getting things done has made him an effective City Councilor.
In addition to his past accomplishments, Worrell has set forth four additional pillars for his campaign: Education, Public Safety, Growth and Development, and Responsive Government.
Education
Education is a top priority for Worrell. Carmel’s culture of learning contributes to the mental health of the entire community and serves as an economic development partner, attracting new high-quality businesses and their employees. Supporting education options, both public and private, is essential for the continued success of Carmel.
Public Safety
Carmel’s reputation as one of the safest cities in the United States is due in part to the hard work of the police and fire departments. Worrell recognizes the importance of public safety and will continue to work with these departments to ensure their ability to provide exceptional programs and firefighting services.
Growth and Development
As Carmel experiences exceptional growth, Worrell acknowledges the concerns over the number of apartments being built in the area. He understands that not everyone can afford a large lawn and four-bedroom home in a Carmel neighborhood and believes that options such as townhomes, condos, apartments, and income-based housing can meet the needs of all residents. He insists on high standards for development that prioritize design, safety, and amenities.
“What I can do is insist that we keep high standards that says to developers, You will build what we want to see in Carmel related to design, safety, amenities and not what you might want to build.”
Responsive Government
Responsive government is critical to ensuring that voters’ concerns are addressed. Worrell is committed to representing his constituents’ needs and interests and believes that responsive government builds trust and confidence in the community.
“Responsive government also helps to ensure that policies and decisions are made with the best interests of the people in mind, leading to better outcomes for everyone. I understand the importance and need to prioritize responsive government and am committed to representing my constituents’ needs and interests.”
Jeff Worrell’s passion for his community and commitment to listening to and hearing his constituents make him an effective City Councilor. His proven record of accomplishments and focus on Education, Public Safety, Growth and Development, and Responsive Government make him a candidate worth considering in the November election.
