A touch of Paris is coming to Hamilton County this July. Blé French Bistro has announced its inaugural “Blé After Dark: An Evening in Paris” event, featuring a live cabaret performance by acclaimed vocalist Don Farrell and renowned pianist Terry Woods.
Scheduled for Saturday, July 18, the special evening aims to blend authentic French bistro culture with the timeless music of the Great American Songbook.
“The vision is to create a moment that is very special for the community,” said Gabriel Di Egidio, co-owner of Blé French Bistro. “That is the reason we are bringing these guys in—to enjoy a very Parisian night, like a cabaret with very good music and a very good experience.”
Bringing Paris to Noblesville
Di Egidio, who is originally from Venezuela, opened Blé French Bistro to honor his late father-in-law, a native of France. The restaurant’s name, “Blé,”pronounced “blay”) translates to “wheat” in French.
While inspired by traditional Parisian culture, the owners adapted the concept to fit the local community, creating the first French bistro in Noblesville.
“We wanted to bring Paris to Noblesville and give the city something different … more American style,” Di Egidio said.
The venue itself boasts an atmosphere tailored for a romantic night out or an evening with friends. The interior features custom frescoes, warm lighting, and a glowing bar top that serves as the centerpiece of the communal area. The space also integrates modern visual art, utilizing framed video displays to enhance the ambiance.
Despite the upscale aesthetic, Farrell noted the restaurant maintains an approachable, unpretentious vibe.
“I had the steak frites and the French onion soup, and the soup was chef’s kiss—it was delicious,” Farrell said.
A Celebration of Heritage and Music
The July 18 performance will draw heavily from the music of Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, and Michael Bublé. Farrell and Woods recently premiered a celebration of these iconic styles in their show “Velvet Voices” at Feinstein’s at Hotel Carmichael in Carmel.
The performance at Blé is designed to evoke a universal appreciation for nostalgia, excellent cuisine, and the timeless appeal of classic crooners.
“We want to bring an intimate, accessible celebration of all of the vision of what Blé is, but adding the wonderful storytelling and music that we’ve come to be known for,” Farrell said. “We are curating it specifically for Gabriel. He really enjoys Tony Bennett and Sinatra, too.”
Woods added that the universal appeal of jazz and classic standards makes it the perfect fit for the international roots of the bistro. “Music does bring us all together. It’s very international,” Woods said.
Di Egidio, who caught a previous performance by the duo, expressed confidence that the show will bring a fresh entertainment option to the local scene.
“I am very happy to host these two gentlemen in the restaurant,” Di Egidio said. “I saw the show before, and I said, ‘Why not bring this to my location to offer something different to the community?’ We are ready to invite everyone to be part of this.”
